The REPUBLIC-MED project addresses the necessity of innovation transfer to current study approaches adopted for retrofit works. New insights on the study stage are identified that can enhance current study methods towards the implementation of energy performance and urban planning standards, taking into account requirements for renovation rates of buildings owned and occupied by central government from 2014 onwards (27/2012/EC) as regards retrofit works in the public sector.
The benefits of these novel approaches are highlighted through applications in strategically selected pilot sites in the partner Countries. Based on the findings, energy and environmental policy planning recommendations and technical instructions where necessary are emerged.
- Development of innovative study methodologies for suggesting energy upgrading and UHI mitigation measures.
- Experimentation of the methodologies through pilot applications in strategically selected public buildings and open spaces in the partner Countries.
- End-users participative procedures.
